Infrared Services

Among the diagnostic and investigative tools we employ is infrared thermography, which reads and records temperature of surfaces.  This can indicate the presence of water behind the surface, pointing one in the direction of the location of a possible source of water entry, or path of travel through an assembly.

These photos are examples of IR photos (thermographs) used in the location of leak sources in a structural standing seam sheet metal roof, by viewing the differences in temperature of the insulation below the roof structure.

The photos also indicate locations of condensation within the insulation jacket of the chilled water pipes serving the HVAC system, indicating imperfections in the vapor barrier on the insulation.
