The responsibility of ownership as well as management requires a reasonable level of assurance that the buildings for which one is responsible, and their components, have a suitable degree of protection against damage from the effects of the weather, and that this protection is reliable and long term. Sometimes indications are that this is not the case; at times it may be come apparent that adequate and reliable long-term protection from the weather has not been achieved.
